A Tool, a Stance, a Life-Long Journey
Developed and disseminated by the Tenets Initiative, the Diversity-Informed Tenets for Work with Infants, Children and Families (Tenets) are a set of ten strategies and tools for strengthening the commitment and capacity of professionals, organizations and systems that serve infants, children and families to embed diversity, inclusion and equity principles into their work.
The Tenets are currently in their second edition. The first edition was published in 2012.

Guidelines for Using the Tenets
The Tenets are a resource for individuals, organizations and systems working with infants, children and families. Our intention is for the Tenets to be used as widely as possible. We know the work of embedding diversity, equity and inclusion principles into practice and policy is challenging, and requires persistent, ongoing effort.
Therefore, we suggest that in addition to reviewing the Tenets, organizations interested in integrating them into their practices and policies consider the following guidelines as they embark on that pathway.
